Long Covid Groups at the COVID Inquiry

UNITED FOR THE
UK COVID-19 INQUIRY

Long Covid Kids, Long Covid Support, and Long Covid SOS are volunteer-led charities. Long Covid Physio is an association of physiotherapists. Together we are four grassroots patient-led organisations, united in our call for answers for adults and children suffering from Long Covid and related illnesses.

"If Long Covid was foreseeable, why was it not foreseen?"

Long Covid Groups give evidence to the inquiry.

"We are absolutely devastated by the effects it's had on us and our family"

ABOUT

What is the UK Covid-19 Inquiry?

The UK Covid-19 Inquiry is investigating the UK Government’s response to and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is chaired by Baroness Hallett. Currently, Module 2 (core UK decision-making and political governance) is open and public hearings are taking place until mid-December 2023.  Evidence is being gathered for three future modules and further modules are yet to be announced.

Who are the Long Covid Groups?

The Long Covid Groups are Core Participants in the UK Covid Inquiry.  We are represented by Jane Ryan, from Bhatt Murphy Solicitors.

The Groups comprise Long Covid Kids, Long Covid SOS, Long Covid Support and Long Covid Physio.

What is a Core Participant?

Core Participants play a formal role in the Inquiry and, among other things, submit evidence, scrutinise evidence submitted by others, and question witnesses via their legal team.

The Long Covid Groups represent the Long Covid community. By taking part in the inquiry we are making sure that the voices of all those who experienced prolonged illness after a SARS-CoV-2 infection are heard.

Baroness Hallett has promised that Long Covid will be a thread running throughout the Inquiry. We and our legal team are there to ensure no stone is left unturned.
